Higher Volumes and Outstanding Quality
While the 50% import tariffs imposed by the United States continue to put pressure on the European market, Spanish mangoes retain a major competitive edge: freshness and quality. “The difference is enormous between a two-week shipment and a two-day transport,” explains Xavier, emphasizing the strategic importance of proximity to European markets. Under the brands BIORIGIN5 (organic products) and ORIGIN5 (conventional products, through its subsidiary Avocoop), Eurofresh cultivates more than 3,000 hectares distributed across Spain, Chile, Peru, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic. This enables the company to ensure consistent quality and a perfectly controlled ripening process across all its production sites.
Organic Avocados: A Market in Full Expansion
As the Spanish avocado season is about to begin, prospects look very promising. “We were among the first to introduce organic avocado cultivation in Peru, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic,” notes Xavier. “Today, demand is so strong that supply is struggling to keep up — the organic market is booming.” In these countries, Eurofresh prioritizes organic production, while maintaining a portion of conventional crops to meet the diverse needs of the market.
An Integrated Presence from Flower to Packaging
Eurofresh primarily supplies the Scandinavian, German, Italian, and Spanish markets, while actively expanding into the Netherlands, Belgium, and France. The company operates a logistics hub in Poeldijk (Netherlands) and ripening facilities in Spain and the Netherlands. “This network allows us to ensure smooth logistics and maintain impeccable quality from field to shelf,” says Xavier.
Thanks to its integrated model, based on local teams in every production country, Eurofresh controls the entire value chain, making quality a true mark of trust.
