Hamim Ahlam
Dr. Ahlam Hamim is a horticulture researcher at the National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) in Tangier, Morocco. Since 2007, her research has focused on improving potato production in the Loukkos region through the introduction of new varieties and the optimization of crop management practices, particularly in fertilization and mineral nutrition.
Her research has mainly concentrated on planting densities, biological fertilization aimed at improving yields, crop rotations, and the management of soil microorganisms, notably bacteria and mycorrhizal fungi. In addition, she has participated in several national and international projects dedicated to improving potato propagation and production techniques.
Dr. Hamim has also benefited from training at leading international research centers in the field of potato production, such as the International Potato Center (CIP), Wageningen University, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
El Haddad Abdesslam
Abdesslam El Haddad is an expert agronomist specializing in plant protection, with a strong academic background and extensive experience in the field of plant health.
He is an agronomic engineer specialized in plant protection and holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences as well as a PhD in Engineering Sciences and Techniques.
He has held several positions of responsibility in the field of plant protection.
Prior to the establishment of ONSSA, he worked within the DPVCRF (Directorate of Plant Protection and Fraud Repression), where he notably served as Head of the Agricultural Warnings and Plant Health Unit from 1997 to 2003, and later as Head of the Regional Seed and Plant Control Unit from 2003 to 2010.
Since the creation of the National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA) in 2010, he has continued his career in the field of plant protection.
He has been serving as Head of the Plant Protection Department at ONSSA since 2017 to date.
TALEB ABDELKADER
Dr. Abdelkader Taleb is a graduate of the Hassan II Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine (IAV) (1977–1981) and a former lecturer-researcher at IAV Hassan II in Rabat (1981–2022). He is an expert botanist specializing in floristic biodiversity in general and weed science (malherbology) in particular. He is a member of several multidisciplinary and multi-institutional scientific teams and associations.
He has participated in numerous projects in the field of natural resources and the environment in general, with a particular focus on floristic and agronomic aspects. He has supervised and co-supervised, and served as rapporteur for, around thirty doctoral theses and more than 70 end-of-studies dissertations.
Dr. Taleb has conducted numerous thematic training sessions for farmers, technicians, and engineers from various public and private institutions in the field of weed management (agricultural estates, COSUMAR, CICAMA, etc.). He has held several pedagogical and administrative leadership positions and has taken part in multiple training programs on crop weed management both in Morocco and abroad.
He has published over one hundred scientific articles in national and international journals and conferences. He is co-author of four books on crop weed management, author of three chapters in The Flora of Northern Morocco (2002), and has twice received the Hassan II Grand Prize for Innovation: in 2017 for the book on crop weeds of the Maghreb, and in 2025 for the book on toxic plants affecting domestic animals in Morocco, in collaboration with Prof. El Hassane Abdennebi (Veterinary Medicine).
Benlafqih Touria
Touria Benlafqih is an expert in economic and social development programs for vulnerable populations in rural areas and regions geographically distant from economic centers. She co-founded, together with her brother, the company LABATA BEN’S, a brand that promotes Moroccan potatoes through fresh and frozen French fries. She is also an entrepreneur in the field of regenerative hospitality, where tourism contributes to the regeneration of local ecosystems.
Hilali Ilias
Ilias Hilali is an agronomic engineer, a graduate of the Hassan II Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine (IAV Hassan II) in 2018, specializing in horticulture. He has been a State Engineer at ONSSA since 2020, within the Seed and Plant Control Division. He currently works in the Variety Registration Service, where he is responsible for monitoring new varieties of vegetable crops and potatoes.
