Homegrown Organic Farms has expanded its berry import program.

The Berry Import Program Expands

The company, specialized in the production and marketing of organic fruits and vegetables, is now expanding its offering with a wider range of organic and conventional berries sourced from Mexico, Peru, and Chile. According to its Category Director for Stone and Pome Fruits, the company is committed to providing its partners with a reliable and consistent berry program that supports them throughout the year. This approach enables them to complement national production seasons and ensure that retailers and consumers have access to the highest quality fruits all year round.

A Broader and More Diverse Import Program

The expanded program now includes:

  • Peru (September–January): Conventional and organic blueberries, including the high-altitude Emerald variety, renowned for its consistency and reliable flavor.
  • Chile (December–February): Conventional and organic blueberries from leading production regions, ensuring continuous supply throughout the winter months.
  • Mexico (October–May): A wide range of blackberries, strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries—both conventional and organic—including the premium Erandira blackberry and select raspberry varieties known for their quality and taste.

This expansion enhances flexibility and promotional opportunities for distributors, while meeting the growing demand for both organic and conventional berries. “With the addition of Peruvian blueberries and Mexican blackberries, we’ve significantly increased our volume and supply consistency,” added Jacob Gracia, Import Category Director. “We’re excited to work with our partners in Mexico, Peru, and Chile to build strong, value-driven berry programs across the entire supply chain.”

Sustainable Partnerships at the Core

As important as fruit quality itself, grower selection is based on partnerships with farmers who share the company’s values of care and respect for the land. By collaborating with producers committed to responsible and long-term sustainable practices, Homegrown Organic Farms extends its mission beyond the fields: to promote healthier soils, stronger communities, and a more resilient food system for future generations.

Finally, the program’s packaging flexibility—offering a wide range of formats and private-label options—gives distributors the tools they need to meet consumer expectations for quality and convenience. Distributors and buyers are invited to contact their sales representatives to plan their berry programs and take advantage of this expanded offering.
