Morocco has reached a new milestone in its frozen raspberry exports to France, recording a historic volume in 2025, according to EastFruit.

Frozen Raspberries: Morocco Climbs into France’s Top 5 Suppliers

During the first ten months of the year, France imported 1.95 thousand tonnes of frozen raspberries and blackberries (HS code 081120) from Morocco, with a total value of USD 5.8 million. This volume is already 25% higher than last year’s figure and exceeds the previous record set in 2022 by 5%.

The first official shipments of Moroccan frozen raspberries to France date back to 2003, when only 58 tonnes were exported. Volumes increased steadily over the years, surpassing the 1,000-tonne threshold for the first time in 2021. The upward trend continued in 2022, a year in which Morocco reached record levels and entered France’s top five suppliers of frozen raspberries for the first time. However, exports dropped sharply in 2023 before returning to previous levels this year.

As of the end of October 2025, France ranks as the fifth-largest destination for Moroccan frozen raspberries, accounting for 7% of total shipments.

The French market for frozen raspberries and blackberries is dominated by Serbia and Poland, which together supply half of total imports. Ukraine holds third place for the second consecutive year, having nearly quadrupled its exports over the past five years.

In 2024, Belgium and Cyprus were among the top five suppliers. This year, Cypriot exports have declined sharply, opening up competition for fifth place. Morocco currently holds this position, followed closely by Germany, Cyprus, and Chile.

Whether Morocco will be able to replicate its 2022 success and secure a lasting position among the top five exporters of frozen raspberries to France will become clearer in the coming months.
