Behind this warm and welcoming experience lies a highly professional horticultural enterprise, continuously investing in innovation and technology. Recently, Fridheimar chose a complete filling and packaging line supplied by Koppert Machines for packing its snack tomatoes in cups.
Efficiency in Both Product and Process
At Fridheimar, the process runs smoothly and precisely. The cup filler ensures accurate packaging of snack tomatoes in cups or buckets, maintaining exact filling weights through an advanced weighing system. Once filled, the containers are sealed and automatically conveyed to the next stages of production. This new setup has proven remarkably efficient: a single operator can now perform what previously required four people. The line’s capacity reaches up to 35 trays per minute, reflecting Fridheimar’s strong commitment to efficiency — both in product handling and overall operations.
A Versatile Application
The machine’s versatility extends far beyond snack tomatoes. It can be adapted to handle a wide range of products — including radishes, mini peppers, carrots, berries, as well as completely different items such as nuts, yogurts, or soups. The option to integrate label printers further enhances its functionality, making the system highly customizable to diverse packaging requirements.
A Valuable Collaboration
For Knútur, owner of Fridheimar, partnering with Koppert Machines was a natural choice — driven by the company’s reputation for quality and reliability. The collaboration was facilitated by Eco Garden, a local expert in agricultural solutions.
Innovation Serving a Broader Sector
Fridheimar stands as a clear example of how the demand for efficient and reliable processing solutions is growing — even in countries like Iceland. Through this innovative initiative, the company highlights the crucial role of mechanized packaging in building a sustainable and forward-looking horticultural sector.
