This year, the company is adding another 17 hectares, bringing its total surface area in Morocco to 30 hectares.
The Belgian greenhouse producer is now reaping the rewards of its international expansion, with new production of snack tomatoes and seedless mini peppers — the latter being a first in Morocco, following the company’s pilot projects on snack vegetables announced last year.
Den Berk Délice Morocco: A Strong Foothold in the Souss-Massa Region
What began in 2024 with an initial crop in the Souss-Massa region has now evolved into a well-established organization, ready to supply the European market year-round, explains Wouter Vankeirsbilck, Managing Director of Den Berk Délice: “Our ambition doesn’t stop at national borders. With Den Berk Délice Morocco, we are taking a major step forward in our mission: to offer the most flavorful specialty tomatoes all year long. We combine the natural power of Moroccan sunlight with our Belgian expertise, always with the same focus — taste, quality, and partnership.”
Modern and Sustainable Mid-Tech Greenhouse Technology
As in Belgium, people are at the heart of the company’s operations in Morocco. Significant investments have been made in modern social infrastructure, comfortable facilities, and fair remuneration. “This is how we build a positive and motivating working environment together,” the company notes.
The growing system reflects the same philosophy.
Den Berk Délice has adopted a “mid-tech” concept, equipped with modern systems such as closed-loop irrigation and advanced ventilation. “By making the most of natural light and heat, we minimize our ecological footprint. Efficient irrigation systems, greenhouses with roof ventilation, and dual quality control — both in Morocco and in Belgium — ensure that every tomato delivered is both reliable and delicious.”
Expansion Plans Underway
For Den Berk Délice, this new site is just the beginning. “The combination of Belgian precision and Moroccan strength will allow us to continue growing in the coming years and to strengthen our partnerships.” Further expansion projects are already planned to meet rising demand. “We always aim for excellence — with our clients, our employees, and our consumers. Great taste knows no borders.”
Year-Round Production
The establishment in Morocco was designed with a clear goal: to ensure continuous year-round supply. Previously, Den Berk Délice had worked with Moroccan partner growers, but to gain greater control over cultivation processes, the company decided to produce directly in Agadir starting last year.
This shift allows for better forecasting of production volumes and harvest dates from the moment of planting. “It’s a major advantage for distributors seeking reliable and consistent supply,” the company emphasized during the announcement of its first Moroccan harvest.
